The School of Business and Information Technology prepares students for employment in the business sector and the rapidly changing field of Information Technology. Business students are able to obtain certificates in high demand business fields such as accounting, business technology, computer applications, e-Commerce and small business management. Computer Technology courses provide individuals with the skills to find employment in one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Students learn hardware, operating systems, application software, local and wide area networking, programming, and internet development. The School of Construction Technology prepares students to enter the fastest growing industry in the State of Utah. Salaries are increasing and job advancement opportunities exist for those with the right skills. Students receive on-the-job site training by working with other construction trades to build a home each year as part of the standard curriculum. Students learn skills in carpentry, cabinetmaking, bricklaying and electrical programs that may be in conjunction with an apprenticeship program. The School of Health Technology prepares students for certification in a variety of health care professions. Students in these programs train in a clinical setting such as hospitals or medical/dental offices. Well-trained, certified individuals have great career potential in these fields. The comprehensive training available at the College includes administrative as well as clinical competencies. Training includes classroom work, hands-on skill practice, and externships. The School of Manufacturing Technology prepares students to meet the technology needs facing Utah's manufacturing and service industries such as Machining, Welding, and Sheet Metal Fabrication. Currently the nation is experiencing a critical shortage of skilled technicians in these areas and many of these fields lead to high pay and great job opportunities. Machining students learn to machine parts on lathes, mills, drill presses, surface grinders and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machines. The School of Service Technology prepares students for the growing market demand in the beauty and hospitality sectors. Students in Cosmetology learn the basics of the science behind the artistry, practice a variety of techniques, and prepare for the state licensing exam. Students learn the latest haircuts, styles, color, highlights, perms, and nail services for men, women, and children. The Culinary Arts Program teaches students a foundation of basic skills and knowledge for entering the food service industry as a cook or baker. Students work in a team setting while preparing food in all stages of production. The College also offers a full Real Estate Agent and Brokerage course.
