Rocky Mountain Power Foundation Continues its Legacy of Support for Tech College Students

The Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College Foundation announced today that the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation has provided additional support to the college in the form of a $3,000 contribution for scholarships to assist students in the college’s electrical trades and/or business programs.

Since 2004, the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation and the PacifiCorp Foundation for Learning have contributed a total of $20,500 to the college foundation to support the scholarship fund and critical college projects.  As a result 17 low-moderate income and academically talented students have been assisted with scholarships.  The PacifiCorp Foundation has also assisted the college with the 2008-10 Machinist Marketing campaign and has also contributed critical training equipment to the college’s electrical trades programs.

According to Tech College Vice-President Jim Taggart , “We are seeing a significant demand for graduates in our electrical trades and business programs.  This support from Rocky Mountain Power Foundation is important in helping students meet their educational goals while providing area employers a high skilled, technically trained workforce.”
