Over 400 people gathered on the Ogden-Weber campus for the 5th Annual UCAT conference on Friday, June 8, 2012. The event began with the passing of the torch from each of the UCAT colleges in an Olympic themed video presentation.  After the opening session participants gathered in front of the Health Technology building for a UCAT group photo which will hang in the new UCAT home offices near Thanksgiving Point.

Breakout sessions and department forums were held during the day with a delicious barbeque lunch served by the Culinary Arts department.  The sunny day invited participants outside to enjoy the beautiful grounds as they dined. During the closing session Collette Mercier, college president, passed the torch to President Mike Bouwhuis from Davis Applied Technology College to host the event next year.

Derek Ponce, the event chair, along with his team and many others from campus, worked hard to make sure the conference ran seamlessly.  “I couldn’t have asked for it to go any smoother,” said Ponce.

President Mercier, in an email to employees raved about the conference and said, “As usual, we led the way and set the example for all of UCAT.  We set a bar that will likely not be met until we host once again in about five years.”
