Instead of semesters or quarters, the majority of courses and programs at the tech college are offered in an open-entry, open-exit format. Open-entry permits students to enroll in most programs as soon as they have tested and met entrance guidelines. The Practical Nursing, Nursing Assistant, Apprenticeship, Cosmetology and a few other programs have specific start dates. Those dates are posted on the enrollment dates Web page [1].
Each occupation includes a series of Critical Workplace Skills courses. These courses develop practical job skills that will help students be more successful with their new employer and co-workers.
These courses include:
Certificate outlines list the courses that are required to complete a specific training occupation. The outline lists the length of each course in clock-hours. These hours represent the amount of time it takes the average student to demonstrate the required competencies for the course. All required courses on the outline must be completed in order to receive a certificate.
