As a Carpenter Apprentice, you may be involved in almost every type of construction activity. You may construct residential homes, commercial buildings, bridges, and tunnels. Some of your responsibilities will be cutting, shaping, and fastening wood and similar materials; erecting wood framework, including sub-flooring, partitions, and rafters; and installing molding, wood paneling, cabinets, window sashes, doors, door frames, and hardware. You may also make forms for concrete structures, build stairs, and lay floors. The approximate completion time for the Carpenter Apprentice Certificate is 720 hours of classroom training on the College campus and 8,000 hours of On-the-Job Training.
