
HVAC Service Technicians install, service, and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and controls. To become a certified journey-level HVAC service technician you must complete 8000 hours of on-the-job training with an employer and 810 hours of related classroom instruction at the Ogden-Weber ATC. Students who complete the program will receive local, state and industry certification that is recognized throughout the United States.
As an HVAC/R Service Technician Apprentice, you will be installing, diagnosing, and repairing temperature control systems including residential/commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioners, refrigerators, and other equipment. You will also read wiring schematics and analyzing building control and air distribution equipment.The approximate completion time for the HVAC/R Service Technician Apprentice Related Instruction Certificate is 810 hours of classroom training on the College campus and 8,000 hours of On-the-Job Training.
