
Plumbers are licensed by the State of Utah and apprentices must complete 8000 hours of on-the-job training with a licensed contractor and 810 hour of related classroom instruction at the Ogden-Weber ATC as a licensed apprentice. Licensure through the Utah Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
As a Plumber Apprentice, you will be working in residential and commercial buildings assembling, installing, and repairing water, drainage, and heating systems including plumbing fixtures. You will install water pipes, sinks, bathtubs, water 8,000 hours of On-the-Job Training.Individuals must complete a minimum of 8,000 hours of paid on-the-job training as a licensed apprentice, complete 810 hours of related-classroom instruction, and pass the Utah Licensing Exam. Your responsibilities will include reading blueprints, cutting, threading, and assembling water pipes, joints, welding, soldering, and caulking water pipes. You will use wrenches, drills, reamers, hammers, chisels, saws, welding machines, and bracing equipment.
