As of July 1, 2011 the Utah Transit Authority has significantly changed the student Ed Pass program. Starting in July, students may only purchase an Ed Pass through the UTA Web site. The price for a basic 30-day pass (bus and TRAX service) is $62.75 plus a $2.00 UTA processing fee. The price for a premium express bus and FrontRunner pass is $148.50 plus a $2.00 UTA processing fee. Both options are a discount of approximately $20 per month from the regular price.
UTA has made the strategic decision to no longer allow college employees to purchase a discounted Ed Pass. We regret this position and hope they will reconsider in the future.
To purchase a pass, go online to UTA’s website at www.rideuta.com/studentpass and click on the link for Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College. You must have a credit or debit card to purchase a pass, as the online system is the only method. Once you have paid for your pass, print the receipt or save it to your smart phone and bring it to our Enrollment Office in Student Services. We will verify that you have an active schedule and issue your monthly card. The electronic fare card is valid for 30 days from the date of first use. You must do this each month you want a pass. Only current students are eligible.
Students are required to tap on and tap off each time they ride using the ed pass, and to carry valid identification that matches the name on the pass.
If you are a sponsored student, please contact your sponsor directly to find out how this will affect you.
All questions or concerns relating to the Ed Pass program should be directed to UTA by visiting their website or calling customer service at 1-888-RIDE-UTA (888-743-3882).
