The Testing Center provides pre-enrollment assessment using TABE or ACCUPLACER for placement in appropriate courses and admission into academic programs. Each program has minimum requirements for reading, and some require language and or math.
Since many students have been away from school for a while, they find it beneficial to brush up before taking the tests. There are many practice test sites on line to help you prepare for these tests. Please consider clicking and reviewing the Math Packet below .
This testing may be waived by providing documentation of acceptable testing within the last two years or transcripts from an accredited institution. To determine if you qualify under these methods, contact the Testing Center at 801.375.3742 or tech college counselor.

- IC3 tests for computer literacy certification
- MOS (Microsoft Office Suite) certification
- Pearson VUE – www.PearsonVue.com
- Comp TIA certificates for the Information Technology Industry
- Prometric – www.prometric.com
- Microsoft certificates for the Information Technology Industry
- Utah Nursing Assistant Registry – www.utahcna.com
The above mentioned tests are the most common tests proctored at the tech college, but there are other tests that may be available. Please check their websites for Certiport, Pearson VUE, and Prometric for additional tests.
All payments and schedules for tests for the above organizations are made through the above listed websites. Current OWATC students who qualify for a reduced cost student voucher must purchase a voucher at the OWATC Cashier and bring it to the Testing Center to schedule a test.
