Free Tuition for High School Students

Updated August 26th, 2009

Students may enroll and attend day or evening courses during the school year and/or during the summer after qualifying through local school. If you are interested in taking classes, you can initiate the enrollment process by contacting the career and technical education coordinator at your high school.

If the grade point average (GPA) is less than 2.0, the student must test prior to entering the OWATC. High School students may also participate in the Apprenticeship Program with a voucher from the sponsoring high school Career and Technical Education Coordinator. Home and private schooled students may be vouchered through their local school district.

Steps to Enrollment

If your GPA is above 2.0 you can use the following procedure:

  1. Talk to the career and technical education coordinator at the high school about attending the Ogden-Weber Applied Technology College. The technical education options at the College will be explained.
  2. Review your transcript with the high school coordinator to determine if any of your high school classes will transfer to OWATC. These classes will be listed on the OWATC enrollment authorization form.
  3. Schedule an appointment with OWATC counselor through the high school coordinator for medical or dental programs.
    Otherwise, bring:
    1. High school transcript
    2. OWATC Enrollment Authorization Form
  4. Meet with an enrollment specialist to complete the enrollment process.
  5. Attend orientation

Concurrent Enrollment

Our College offers several courses that are eligible for concurrent enrollment with Weber State University. In order to participate in the concurrent enrollment program, students must obtain a concurrent enrollment packet from the instructor listed for the class they will be enrolling in. These courses apply to future, current, and/or those not older than one year from the completion date.
